Undoubtedly, higher education is changing with the
increasing availability and implementation of technological innovations in
educational activities as well as the incorporation of virtual classrooms.
UNEMI has included the use of the virtual classrooms in the processes of
teaching and learning in its five faculties where the English modules are not
the exception in accordance with the requirements of its 2014-2018 Strategic
Plan in its PEST analysis (political, economic, social and technological) all
of this according to the requirements of some agencies such as the CES,
CEAACES, SENESCYT. Thus the teaching and learning processes of English in the
five academic faculties of UNEMI should be designed in a holistic and
integrated manner to develop in the student the basic skills (Listening,
Reading, Speaking and Writing) that encourage independent study habits to
update and expand the knowledge acquired, as well as scenarios where work is
valued as an element of personal fulfillment.
